Perennial herb. Roots thick, branched, densely covered with fibrous leaf remnants at the rhizome. Stem solitary, dichotomously branched, with fine ridges. Basal leaves have long petioles, sheath-like at the base, slightly clasping the stem. Leaf blades ovate or oblong, 2–3 pinnately divided, primary segments ovate, with small petioles, secondary segments sessile at the apex, short-petioled at the base, further divided into narrow segments, apex acute; stem leaves smaller, with broader leaf sheaths. Numerous compound umbels, terminal, forming cymose panicles, without bracts; petals 5, white, apex obtuse-truncate; ovary inferior, 2-celled. Schizocarp ovate.
